Dr Daniel Ricard a obtenu un doctorat en médecine dentaire de l'Université de Montréal en 1982. Il a par la suite complété une résidence multidisciplinaire en médecine dentaire à l'Université McGill. Enfin, il a poursuivi ses études afin d'obtenir un certificat de spécialiste en chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale en 1987, de l'Université Laval. Il a fait un Fellowship en chirurgie orthognatique avec le Professeur Jean Delaire à Nantes (France) ainsi qu'avec le Professeur David Precious à l'Université Dalhousie. Le Dr Ricard est « Fellow » du Collège Royal des Dentistes du Canada et fut examinateur dans sa spécialité pour ce même Collège pendant 15 ans. Dr Ricard fut conférencier à de nombreuses reprises au niveau national et international.
